Trina Kushnerik, MSW, RSW
Registered Social Worker providing virtual therapy for British Columbians

Hi, I'm Trina.

I'm a therapist (MSW) specializing in anxiety, burnout, and trauma-related experiences.

Many of the people I work with are high-achieving and competent, yet find themselves struggling with anxiety, self-criticism, or the sense that they should be doing better than they feel. These individuals are often healing overachieving tendencies, relationship trauma, self-critical thought spirals, and worries about what “should” be.

If something here feels familiar, you’re not alone.

Intentionally create new patterns.

Instead of trying to think your way out of it, again, let's take a different evidence-informed approach.

My focus is on helping you develop a better relationship with your own thoughts and feelings, one that supports you engaging with your life.

My approach is a blend of ACT, CBT, DBT, and mindfulness based approaches. These approaches help you create a different relationship with feelings and thoughts that weigh you down. This can help reduce that feeling of being frozen, or feeling pushed around, by those thoughts and feelings. I aim to have you leave each session with a tangible, actionable takeaway so your new patterns can show up in your day-to-day.

If you’re feeling unsure about reaching out, that’s completely normal, many people feel a little hesitant before taking the first step. Come say hello in a brief meet-and-greet call. There’s no pressure, and my virtual door is open.

You don’t have to be at your worst to deserve support, and you don’t have to go through this alone.

Anxiety Counselling

Anxiety can make it hard to quiet your mind, trust your decisions, or feel comfortable slowing down. It can make it feel like you need to figure everything out before you can relax. Many people discover that learning to relate differently to anxious thoughts matters more than trying to eliminate anxiety altogether.

Relationship Challenges

Counselling can help you untangle your current and past experiences. It’s possible to build closer, more authentic connection without losing the parts of you that matter.

Burn Out

You don’t have to be struggling visibly to feel burned out. Sometimes it shows up as exhaustion, numbness, or feeling stuck despite doing everything you’re supposed to be doing. Burnout isn’t always about working too much...sometimes it’s about carrying too much pressure for too long.

Reclaiming Yourself

Wild growth often can occur after challenging breakups and at the beginning of new life chapters. Many high achievers reach a point where they feel disconnected from who they want to be. This work focuses on helping you reconnect with your values, choices, and sense of agency.

You don’t have to explain yourself perfectly here.

You don’t have to be at your worst to deserve support. Many people begin therapy because something in their life feels heavy, confusing, or stuck.

If something here resonates with you, you’re welcome to take the next step when you feel ready.
